AMKB NGOSS Contract Workshop Series
AMKB-100 BPMN with NGOSS Hands-On Workshop

This five-day course will really get you going with BPMN and NGOSS!

With five days together you're guaranteed to have plenty of practical and hands-on experience. Learn to use the AutoMagicKB reference models and Intalio BPMS to create NGOSS-styled SOA Service Contracts. And get them up and running on your own laptop!

The course uses the AMKB NGOSS eTOM, SID, TAM, OSS/J & MTOSI reference models to explore the requirements of a prototypical Service Provider 'Everything Works'.

The Business and Technology staff at Everything Works have been challenged to bring NGOSS to bear in improving several existing business processes: Plan a Product Offering, Develop a Product Offering, Launch a Product Offering, Sell a Product Offering and Support a Product Offering.

This course provides attendees with detailed examples & hands-on training in a practical methodology for using NGOSS artifacts to develop Business & System View Contracts utilizing defined Entity-centric SOA Services. This course is geared towards business analysts, enterprise and solution architects, and solution designers.

Delegates will leave the course understanding the AMKB methodology for making practical application of the NGOSS, eTOM, SID, TAM, OSS/J & MTOSI reference models to create NGOSS-styled SOA Process, Task-centric, Entity-centric and Application Service Contracts.

Intended for: The course is intended for those who have a basic understanding of the NGOSS framework and its reference models, particularly the eTOM, SID, TAM & OSS/J. Delegates should be familiar with UML and BPMN modeling.

Pre-requisites: Attendees should have familiarity with UML 2 and have a good understanding of NGOSS. Familiarity with the eTOM process model, the SID business entity model, the TAM application map and the NGOSS lifecycle and method of problem solving are a plus. Courses meeting these pre-requisites include: AMKB-20 NGOSS Overview and AMKB-50 NGOSS-styled SOA: Using the Solution Frameworks.

Upon completion, delegates will be able to:

  • Leave the course with the view that using NGOSS to develop SOA Process, Task-centric, Entity-centric and Application SOA Service Contracts is realistic and practical;
  • Understand how to utilize NGOSS:
    • eTOM Business Process model to characterize the organizational business activity needs;
    • SID Business Entity model to characterize the organizational business information needs;
    • NGOSS TAM Business Application model to characterize the organizational application capability needs;
    • To create platform-neutral models (Business & System View Contracts) that support the auto-generation of executable artifacts (Implementation & Deployment View Contracts);
  • Have confidence in using the AMKB NGOSS-styled SOA methodology by having engaged in a hands-on experience creating SOA Service Contracts.
